An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Diabetes Dietitian to join our team of Dietitians at Northwick Park Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital to cover a period of maternity leave. The post requires an enthusiastic Dietitian with experience of working in Diabetes, to deliver a dietetic service as part of a multidisciplinary teams within Northwick Park Hospital
You will be required to provide evidence based dietetic advice to adults with diabetes. A knowledge of carbohydrate counting education, insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring is required. The role would have a great mix of one-to-one clinics and diabetes group education, including DAFNE and carb counting sessions delivered virtually and face to face.
As a band 7, you will be one of the senior members of the Dietetic team on both sites. You will support the Team Lead in monitoring, developing and evolving the dietetic service and you will also be providing support to the junior members of the team.
We are looking for a Dietitian with strong communication, organisational, team working and leadership skills with a passion for Diabetes. They should be focused on providing a high quality dietetic service which is evidence based and responsive to the changing needs of the NHS and this patient group.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with the band 7 Diabetes Dietitian based at Central Middlesex Hospital and lead on a number of clinical and service development projects. Together, you will be the experts on nutrition in this field, and will seek opportunities within the MDT to lead on service improvement, audit and research, raising the profile of Dietetics within the team and organisation.
The dietetic team is a large, dynamic and friendly department of acute dietitians, community dietitians, dietetic assistants and admin based across Trust at Northwick Park, St Marks and Ealing Hospitals and Central Middlesex Hospital.
On both sites you will be working and welcomed as a part of the multidisciplinary Diabetes team. The multidisciplinary team consists of Consultant Endocrinologists, Specialist Diabetes Nurses, Podiatrists as well as Diabetes Specialist Midwives.
The dietetic department is committed to continuing professional development, and we have an established clinical governance programme including evidence based clinical groups, audit meetings, journal clubs, clinical supervision and critical appraisal. We are a well-established student trainer providing placements 2 and 3 and the post will involve supervision of students in the clinical area.
