**Head of Income Generation Job Description**

**Post Title**: Head of Income Generation

**Work area**: Income Generation and Fundraising

**Responsible to**: CEO (with a dotted line to COO)

**Location**: Hybrid.The post will be based primarily at our head office in London with the opportunity for regular home working if desired (2-3 day per week split).However, there will be the need for regular visits to Redthread’s other projects and activities that take place at various locations across London, the Midlands and the UK.

**Hours**: 40 hours per week. The nature of Redthread’s work means that occasional evening and weekend work is required.

**Salary**: £60.000 per annum + benefits

**Contract type**: Permanent

**Purpose of the Post**
- Lead Redthread’s income generation through a range of fundraising streams covering statutory funding, trusts and foundations, business development, corporate and individual and community fundraising working alongside our income generation team
- Member of the Leadership Team of Redthread, contributing to the strategic development, governance, and effective leadership of the organisation.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Develop and deliver the organisational income generation strategy, setting and achieving short, medium and long-term funding goals to drive growth from our current £4m+ annual income, so that Redthread can achieve its strategy and support more children and young people affected by violence and exploitation to thrive.
- Lead Redthread’s approach to securing both statutory income (grants and contracts) and voluntary income (trusts, corporates, major donors, individuals), developing organisational principles for high-quality cultivation, stewardship and partnership management in partnership with our Executive and Leadership Team.
- Lead organisational tendering and commercial income generation activities aligned with the strategy, coordinating solution design and written bids.
- Lead on organisational horizon scanning and creating opportunities to scale our impact and develop our work, Manage these high-level strategic funding partnerships and cultivate relationships with major funders and other stakeholders, in collaboration with other members of the Executive, Leadership Team and Board as required.
- Develop Redthread’s nascent individual giving and major donor income streams, embedding best practice principles and taking a test and learn approach to establishing a longer-term strategy for growing these income streams.
- Work with Director of Services and delivery staff to co-create new innovations and services that respond to potential new business opportunities and meet the needs of children and young people.
- Prepare and maintain project budgets for fundraising, working with the COO and Head of Finance to accurately represent financial information and forecasting for the future.
- Line Manage and lead a team of highly successful professional fundraisers, coaching and supporting them to achieve and exceed targets and objectives, develop their skills and thrive in their roles.
- Monitor fundraising performance, setting ambitious team targets, establishing and measuring KPIs, analysing results and reporting to the Executive, Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and wider staff team.
- Ensure all Redthread’s income generation activity is compliant with fundraising governance and legislation, including GDPR, PECR, and the Code of Fundraising Practice, and ensure our systems and processes (including the database and reporting) are compliant and fit for purpose Business Development.

**General responsibilities of all Redthread staff**
- Actively participate in staff meetings, session evaluations, supervision/reviews and planning sessions and in Redthread’s overall development, including input on the needs of young people, ideas for new projects, and the on-going development of existing projects.
- Assist where possible with fundraising events and fundraising, including the maintenance and growth of the regular supporter network, and to assist in promoting the organisation’s work with young people to the wider community.
- Assist in maintaining good working relations with Redthread’s stakeholders, project partners and with other agencies and represent Redthread at external meetings as required.
- Encourage and enable young people to participate in all forms of decision-making and management of Redthread’s projects, with the ultimate aim of empowering them to shape the services and activities provided for them. To ensure that all young people have equality of access and that the programme promotes opportunities for all young people.
