The Knaresborough Inn is now looking to recruit a Maintenance Assistant.

**Duties include**:
- Daily Boiler checks
- Daily electrical checks (distribution boards, visual emergency lights etc)
- Interior /external light bulbs
- Fire alarm control panels
- Inspect and clean out external grease trap
- Visual checks on fire extinguishers
- Fire doors and closers throughout
- Roofs, gutters, drains, handrails, steps, walkways for slips trips &fall hazards
- External housekeeping - tables, chairs, ashtrays, empty and remove broken glass
- Gardens - cutting grass, pruning, keeping borders tidy etc.
- Planned maintenance - interior and external painting, grouting, silicone sealing
- Other unplanned repairs
- Contractor liaison and engagement
**Key Skills and Experience**
- Basic plumbing skills (repairing and replacing faulty taps, showers, waste pipes, traps and leaking pipework)
- Basic electrical skills (replacing faulty sockets, switches, lighting equipment, tuning TVs, replacing light bulbs, fault finding)
- Basic Joinery (replacing faulty handles, hinges, door locks, door closers, ensuring doors and windows open and close smoothly)
- Basic Painting (Ensure all walls and ceilings and woodwork throughout are kept freshly painted)
- Compliance (ladder checks, emergency light tests, fire alarm tests)
- Weekly Utility Readings (Gas, electric, water)
