Alecto Recruitment is working with their client to find a Mechanical Fitter to join their Waste Treatment Plant in Knaresborough on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance of mechanical assets, including conveyor belts, pumps, gearboxes, valves, and cranes, to ensure minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
  • Fabrication work and general workshop duties, including operating workshop machinery for fabrication and refurbishment tasks.
  • Preventative and reactive maintenance work, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Participation in planned outages, ensuring efficient and effective execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Communication of problems and concerns through line management to ensure quick and effective resolution.
  • Assistance in delivering Maintenance Team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), contributing to the team's success.
  • Compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualification:
  • Time Served
  • Mechanical Technical Apprenticeship
  • Level 3 NVQ3/BTEC
  • Maintenance Engineering
  • CSE/GCSE equivalent
  • IOSH Managing safely - desirable
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proven knowledge and hands-on experience working with various mechanical systems, including conveyor belts, valves, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, fabrication work, and technical proficiency.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents to guide maintenance and repair work.
  • Experience in writing detailed Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure safety and compliance during maintenance operations.
