Alecto Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their team at a Waste Treatment Plant in Knaresborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, including conveyor belts, valves, gearboxes, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Rectify problems on mechanical assets to ensure minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
- Carry out fabrication work and general workshop duties, including operating workshop machinery for fabrication and refurbishment tasks.
- Be responsible for Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance work, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
- Assist with and actively participate in planned outages, ensuring efficient and effective execution of maintenance tasks.
- Promptly communicate problems and concerns through line management to ensure quick and effective resolution.
- Assist in delivering Maintenance Team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), contributing to the team's success.
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards, policies, and procedures.
- Report any accidents, incidents, and near misses in a timely manner to maintain a safe working environment.
- Proven knowledge and hands-on experience working with various mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents to guide maintenance and repair work.
- Experience in writing detailed Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure safety and compliance during maintenance operations.
- Time Served Mechanical Technical Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
