**The Role**:
As the Maintenance Officer, you will make sure Old Norse has a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support. You will play a key role in supporting the Home Manager and will oversee the maintenance and safety of the home, ensuring all aspects of the building and grounds are well kept, ensuring service delivery is unaffected. You will make health and safety your priority and ensure the highest standards are delivered at all times according to legislative guidelines.

You will be expected to undertake a variety of tasks including decorating, carpentry, plumbing etc. to ensure safe environments within the home are maintained. You will also be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and safety audits are completed as per required schedules and any areas of concern are highlighted to the Home Manager.

You will understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements relevant throughout the homes, including HACCP, COSHH, Health and Safety and ensure all staff understand and adhere to the health and safety policies and procedures within the home.

**Hours of work**:
Hours of work will be 09.00 to 17.00, Monday to Friday (40 hours in total) but an element of flexibility will be required at times in order to meet the changing needs of the business.
