About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Inspector to join our team at EQUANS. As a key member of our infrastructure maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our highway network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Highway Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of the highway network to identify potential hazards and defects, and implement maintenance and repair works as necessary.
  • Legislative Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance and repair works are carried out in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and standards.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation of all maintenance and repair works, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including client officers, elected members, the general public, and other interested parties.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Investigate and resolve complex issues and problems related to highway maintenance, and make informed decisions to ensure the safety and integrity of the highway network.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other team members, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, to achieve common goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Experience: Proven knowledge and experience of highway construction methods, maintenance treatments, materials, and equipment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of IT systems, including databases and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing professional development and training to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Driving License: Full driving license required.
