**We are looking to employ a highly motivated and organised individual to join our busy Reception team on the Surgical Triage Unit which is located on T5/T6 at the Royal Oldham Hospital.**
We have recently relocated and have an exciting opportunity for a ward clerk to support our well motivated and enthusiastic team to provide the very best patient care.
The post will involve dealing with telephone and face-to-face enquiries and a full range of administrative and clerical duties. The Department is extremely busy and the work is challenging, fast moving and sometimes of a sensitive nature.
Main duties of the job
You must have excellent customer service skills, be dedicated and courteous. You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent keyboard skills. You must be able to deal with sensitive/confidential issues, be flexible and be a team player and ready for the challenge that this demanding but rewarding role will present.

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSE grades A-C or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
- Medical terminology qualification
Skills/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work on your own and use own initiative.
- Good communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Excellent keyboard skills
Desirable criteria
- Practical and working knowledge of PAS, Symphony and other NHS IT systems
- Aware of current issues within the NHS
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous reception experience covering a wide range of office duties.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in a healthcare setting
