Youth Offending in SET CAMHS
The aim of SET CAMHS is to respond earlier to children and young people’s needs in order to help prevent, reduce or delay the need for more specialist interventions. Youth offending is a key part of this. Our SET CAMHS Youth offending practitioners are co-located with the youth offending teams with strong operational links to the locality team. Referrals are taken from the Youth offending teams for young people who require an emotional well-being or mental health provision. There is an opportunity to undertake specialist areas of work alongside both youth offending and SET CAMHS colleagues. An element of the role is to provide consultation, training and support to the youth offending team in relation to young people’s emotional well
- being and mental health. The role requires working with hard to reach young people and therefore a flexible and agile working approach is needed. This is an interesting role with opportunities for CPD in this specialist area of work.
Working in our SET CAMHS team is for you if you are excited by a modern approach. We would very much like to hear from you. Applicants should have aprofessional mental health qualificationand have experience of working with hard to reach young people who have mental health difficulties and their families. Some experience of the youth justice/criminal justice system would be an advantage as would an ability to work as an independent specialist mental health worker in a multi
- agency team. We are looking for someone familiar with adopting a flexible and creative approach to a challenging client group and who is enthusiastic, confident and self-motivated.
