**POST TITLE: Engagement Key-worker**

**RESPONSIBLE TO: Complex Care Division**
The work of an Engagement key worker has a direct impact on improving the life and opportunities of vulnerable young people within the local community. By providing a person centred approach in your engagement, the aim is to tackle prevention of youth crime, increasing education attendance, engagement within educational settings, promotion of community safety and supporting young people with home life harmony. This work entails working with young people, carers and various stakeholders, such as social services, schools, colleges, healthcare professionals and working towards improving the outcomes for the young people engaging with YPR’s services.
**PURPOSE OF ROLE**:
To provide high quality, one to one, outcome driven support services for a range of young people in need of support across a variety of locations.
To provide support interventions and programmes designed to prevent offending and anti-social behaviour.
To provide re-engagement with education & support positive home life interactions to improve the life skills for children and young people referred to YPR’s services.
To promote equality and diversity within the team and for children, young people and their families.
To inspire and motivate young people to reach their potential.
To promote the welfare, capacity for change, safeguarding and social inclusion of children and young people.
To maintain accurate records of all interactions with our young people.
To support circle of support gain better understanding behaviours.
To achieve outcomes that enhance the social skills of children & young people within YPR’s service.
**MAIN RESPONABILITES**
To engage and build relationships of trust with young people to enhance their potential through a person-centred approach.
Providing direct outreach support and assistance to young people with activities & engagement within the community or home.
Offering emotional support, addressing both the social and emotional needs of young people.
Supporting with organizing and participating in social activities with young people.
Maintain positive relationships with individuals, families and other multi agency professionals within the young person network.
Caseload Management of maintaining accurate casework summary of sessions, completing all required documentation, including session plans, contact logs, assessments, risk assessments and outcome focused support plan, risk assessments, behaviour support plans and intervention Plans.
To develop and manage a range of programmes/activities to enhance achievement of young people and reduce risk of involvement in offending/anti-social behaviour/exclusion.
To work closely and creatively with the Complex Needs/Operations Manager to achieve agreed elements of formal plans for young people on the programme.
To deliver interventions appropriate to the areas of risk factors identified through the referral and assessment process. This includes providing mentoring work with children and young people and parenting support work to their parent(s) or carer(s).
To assess young people’s needs and the risks they present and to the plan and evaluate work undertaken with them.
To support young people in accessing services from Education, Training and Employment, Health, Housing, Benefits, Sports and Leisure and other provisions.
To provide a positive role model and to challenge attitudes and behaviours placing young people at risk of offending or disenfranchisement.
To work in accordance with YPR and local authorities’ policies and procedures, including those relating to health and safety, anti-discriminatory practice, and safeguarding.
Work flexibly including work at weekends and evenings in order to deliver individually tailored programmes and contacts.
