We have an opportunity for a SCPHN to Join our HCP Infant feeding team in West Sussex and be the Specialist HV lead

The post is to manage the County wide infant feeding team who are fully UNICEF accredited and have achieved full Gold recognition.

The post base is negotiable as the team is County wide and staff are based across the County, however there will be a fair degree of travelling involved to meet staff, clients, attend meetings etc.

The post is for 30 hours per week

Infant Feeding Team
- Specialist Health visitor Lead

We are seeking a Health Visitor to be the Lead to manage The West Sussex Infant feeding team. You should have a good clinical knowledge of Infant feeding and be prepared to do the UNICEF training and potentially the IBLC lactation consultant course if appropriate.

This is an exciting opportunity for dynamic SCPHN - Health Visitor who wishes to maintain clinical expertise whilst developing management and supervision skills and leading a 0-5 HCP Infant Feeding team in line with the Healthy Child Programme, including local and national priorities.

The 0-5 IFT includes Health Visitors, Lactation Consultants, Peer support Coordinator and administrative staff.

The Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust Healthy Child Programme has Gold UNICEF Baby Friendly accreditation and our Health Visitors are trained in the use of the scheme's promotional guides.

You will receive a full induction and have a peer mentor. You will be supported by a clinical service manager, the existing Hub team lead and the wider team lead colleagues. There are weekly Team Lead meetings and integrated meetings with colleagues from the local authority.

You will work alongside another team lead to manage the Horsham Hub consisting of two HCP teams, but will be responsible for the line management of the staff in the Horsham North team. You will work closely with all the team leads to develop ideas, be part of working parties and regular meetings.

You will have monthly Supervision with the clinical service manager and with the Safeguarding lead. There is regular team lead peer supervision groups and a robust induction and support.
