As an Assistant Planner, your main responsibility will be to assist the Planners with the organisation of the daily planning of personnel and equipment within the Operations department. Carrying out all administration duties such as answering telephone calls, booking hotels and travel for field staff and creating purchase orders. The progression in this role is to be able to cover the Planner's leave when necessary.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a full time, permanent position to be based at our Thornaby, Teesside office.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- **Planning**: Assist the Planners with the planning of personnel equipment; ensure the planning board is kept up to date and changes are made as and when required.
- **Operations**: Ensure resources are managed and utilised in the most effective manner.
- ** SHEQ**: Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards and procedures.
- ** Administration**: Review timesheets, create purchase orders, complete all other relevant administration tasks to the highest standard in line with internal requirements.
- ** Communication**: Ensure Operations have the correct information regarding job assignments; build and maintain excellent relationships with external suppliers; take out of hours calls on evenings and weekends where necessary.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Knowledge and understanding of an Integrated Management System.
- Proficient in ICT, in particular Microsoft Office packages.
- Good level of English both verbal and written.
- Experience in an administration role
