The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way.

This role sits within our children and families directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children and young people to support their emotional and mental health across Schools and colleges that are signed up to the Department of Health and Department of Education Trailblazer initiative.

Your role will be to provide interventions that will help a range of children & young people, aged between 5 - 18 to understand their emotional and mental health. Provide support by way of one to one sessions, group work and via virtual interactive sessions. Work closely with education professionals across several schools and build positive and trusting relationships. Together with offering information and guidance to parents.

We are currently looking for a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner to join our dynamic, ambitious team.

A key part of this role will be your ability to

**KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES**

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

- HEE PG Diploma in Education Mental Health Practice for children & young people or PG Diploma in Psychological Wellbeing Practice for children and young people
- Good working knowledge of nationally agreed routine outcome measures within the CYP-IAPT Programme.
- Working knowledge of the educational system.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to deliver low intensity evidenced based interventions under supervision to children and young people.
- Ability to devise and deliver group-based interventions to children and young people.
- Ability to delver parent led interventions where children have a mental health need.
