**Job description**

**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Booking in of raw materials, ensuring the data collected is accurate and reflective of the material being delivered.
- Printing of the raw material labels and Allergen labels before material is issued to production
- To be able to take micro, chemical and species samples accurately and according to a schedule
- Conduct regular microbiological and chemical sampling to monitor accuracy of the raw materials being delivered and legal declarations such as meat speciation.
- To be able to check raw material certificates against supplier raw material data
- Completion of FOSS meat analysis of incoming meats
- To complete regular glass and hard plastic audits in the area
- Checking and improving raw material quality control procedures
- Action quality and process improvements, investigations and objectives provided by the Shift Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Assurance Manager or Technical Manager.
- Investigation of customer complaints and internal incidents.
- To ensure all quality systems documentation and process checks follow formalised standards.
- Monitoring product quality and reporting non-conformances to other departments in order for action to be taken.
- Conduct regular documented calibration checks on equipment critical to food safety and quality.
- Review and report on non-conforming raw materials and report information to supplier in the form of a Non conformance note.
- Ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards are maintained within the good incoming area.

**ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE**:

- Excellent numerical and literacy skills, and computer literacy.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to learn on the job, within a fast pace environment
- Must have good visual awareness as will be working in an environment with forklifts
- Must be aware there is significant manual handling involved within the role
- Must be a team player with the ability to work unsupervised and to prioritise workload.
- Organised and flexible with ability to multi-task whist maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to interpret and evaluate data leading to decision making.
- Basic knowledge of food manufacturing processes advantageous.
- Experience of working according to the requirements of BRC advantageous.

**Salary**: Up to £23,494.21 per year
