Job Description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at Joseph Hughes Associates. As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer complaints process: Investigate and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Drive the closure of all issues: Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions to resolve customer complaints.
  • Establish customer review meetings: Schedule regular meetings with customers to discuss their concerns and ensure that their needs are being met.
  • Generate and implement Product Quality Control Plans: Develop and implement quality control plans to ensure that products meet customer requirements.
  • Establish customer agreed product quality standards: Work with customers to establish quality standards that meet their needs.
  • Compile Customer key performance indicators and metrics: Track and analyze customer performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide team leadership for product quality improvement programs: Lead cross-functional teams to implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain Customer Concern Database: Track and analyze customer concerns to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Completion of Internal audit program: Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Develop reaction plans for containment of identified issues: Develop plans to contain and resolve quality issues.

Internal Customer Relations:

  • Maintain awareness of all customer requirements, issues and current status: Stay up-to-date on customer requirements and issues.
  • Production, education and support for continuous improvement: Provide training and support to production teams to improve quality.
  • Development awareness of purchasing & sales departments: Work with purchasing and sales teams to ensure that customer requirements are met.
  • Where necessary, support SQA in supplier product quality issues: Work with SQA to resolve supplier quality issues.

Business Management System:

  • Active participant in the management of ISO 9001:2008 (ISO 9001:2015): Work with the quality management team to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Conduct internal audits as required to agreed schedules: Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Verify the conformity of product quality to agreed standards: Ensure that products meet quality standards.

NPI Support:

  • Active participant in NPI projects with an emphasis on all QA activities: Work with cross-functional teams to implement quality activities during new product introductions.
  • APQP/PPAP – Support project activities: Support project teams to ensure that quality activities are completed.
  • Development of Quality Management system to transition to ISO 9001:2015 standard requirements: Work with the quality management team to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working within a manufacturing environment: Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent understanding of ISO/TS including PPAP, APQP: Knowledge of ISO/TS standards and quality processes.
  • Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
  • Excellent computer skills and competent in developing and using a PC and associated networks and systems: Proficiency in using computer systems and software.
  • Good organisational and Time Management skills: Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to lead and develop project teams: Experience leading and developing project teams.
  • Prepared to travel as required, sometimes at short notice: Willingness to travel as required.
