We are the most successful retail garden centre business in the southwest and we continue to grow and strengthen.

This is an immediate start position that would suit someone who can join our successful team within a short period and take advantage of full training in all aspects of the role. This role is to join the head office team and help run our Buying and Accounts departments, processing and reporting for our retail stores and nursery. This role is being introduced to learn multiple aspects of our head office team in order to give us ample holiday and peak season cover.

**The role includes the following duties**:

- Processing and checking delivery notes / invoices/ etc for approval and in preparation of payments
- Sourcing and purchasing various sundries
- Organising and chasing deliveries
- Learning and covering the processing of our four weekly payroll
- Reconciling the bank account
- Carrying out day to day tasks within the buying team
- Processing petty cash receipts
- Allocating uniforms
- Organise and manage the disposal of assets
- Assisting on a range of issues and supporting all of our head office as the link between departments.

This is a varied role that will allow you to gain experience in many departments and would suit an individual who is keen to progress in their career. Buying and accounts experience is preferred but isn’t required however strong computer skills are essential for this role. Applicants also need strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills to ensure that all deadlines are met and that their days are organised. This role is designed to support the business and the directors while providing sickness and holiday cover where appropriate. With the company planning to continue expansion further, this role has plenty of opportunity for growth.

**Skills and experience required for this role are**:

- Highly organised
- Very Good I.T. skills / computer experience with good knowledge of excel spread sheets and word documents
- Good levels of English - both spoken and written
- Ability to work within a team
- Ability to time manage and prioritise
- Previous accounting or EPOS experience is an advantage

**Details of this role**:

- The role would require applicants to work Monday to Friday with occasional shop floor support needed on key trading weekends throughout the year - flexibility to help is an advantage
- The position is located at our Head office in Newton Abbot (working from home is not suitable for this role)
- We can offer £13 to £15 per hour with flexibility to work 35 hours to 40 hours per week - exact working hours to be agreed. This equates to £27,000 to £31,000 per year.
- Holiday is pro rata based on hours worked - approx. 28 days
- The role will be supported by full on-site training by our experienced head office team
