**Role Details**

Due to an increased workload in the Safety & Projects team, we are offering an excellent opportunity to permanently join the team in an exciting role to assist in managing and coordinating on-site works around Edinburgh Trams infrastructure. These works are part of the renewals or maintenance programmes of the tram network, vehicle and infrastructure as defined by the Operating Agreement. Your primary role is to provide support to the Renewals Manager and the Engineering Department on various renewals and ad-hoc projects to ensure that they are delivered in accordance with Edinburgh Trams Safety Management System, on budget and on time.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide support to the Renewals Manager on the activities around delivering the Annual Asset Renewals Programme.
- Daily presence on-site to ensure works are completed according to the agreed standards. Providing inductions to contractors and reviewing RAMS.
- Ensure that all work is carried out with due regard to the business’ requirements and specifications. Inspect, monitor, and witness testing and report on the progress including identification of remedial works when required. Ensure all relevant permissions and permits have been issued for the works on site.
- Identification of defects, monitoring and inspecting the infrastructure at regular intervals, to ensure structural integrity and compliance with all laws and regulations.
- Produce regular site reports and assess contract implementation. Monitor approved programme of the projects to ensure targets and costs are met. Maintain work logs and site diaries, together with compiling and filing official status reports
- Risk assessments conducted and recorded with evidence of actions implemented as outlined.

**The Role**
- The role is full time, 40 hours a week, working 5 days over 7 days, predominately Monday to Friday although occasional night-time/weekend working will be required.

**About you**

Minimum requirements for this role are:

- HNC/HND Civil Engineering/ City & Guilds level 2/3 or equivalent
- Membership of Institute of Clerk of Works (ICWCI) with evidence of continuing professional development or similar experience
- Site safety training (CSCS card, SMSTS/SSSTS)
- Construction site supervisory experience, including management of contractors at all levels
- Experience of construction processes, building laws, and regulations, with extensive experience and a broad understanding of quality benchmarking across a range of disciplines
- Experience of producing management information and reports.
