Breakthrough in Education are currently working closely with a School in the Bury St Edmunds area who are looking to employ a LSA to work full or part-time with pupils who are experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

This school provides a specialist and focused educational setting. This role is for a class with SEMH needs. The school aims to enrich the lives of its students, by creating a nurturing environment where pupils can thrive and grow in independence and self-esteem. In this role, you will be working to help pupils reach their tailored learning goals, whilst also attending to their pastoral needs and general well-being.

Safeguarding and well-being of the pupils is paramount to the role.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**:

- Experience of working with young people or adults with SEMH
- A passion for helping young people
- Calm and caring approach
- Enthusiasm and motivation to make a difference
- Ability to engage well with pupils and teachers

**ROLE SPECIFICATION**:

- Working with a team of TAs and a Teacher with class sizes of 8-10 pupils.
- Supporting the teacher to help the pupils reach their educational goal
- Preparing the classroom for lessons and keeping the class tidy
- Working 1:1 with pupils and in small groups
- Adapting a creative approach to encourage learning
