**Job Title**: Functional Skills Tutor - SEN Specialist (Assessor / Tutor)
**Hours of Work**: 37.5 hours p/w
**Salary**: £22,000.00 - £25,000.00 per annum
**Summary of Role**: As a Functional Skills Tutor with SEN experience, you will report to the Functional Skills Manager. You will have a proven ability in teaching Maths and English to achieve high quality outcomes for learners, alongside experience and training in developing a variety of SEN learners.
You will have the ability to manage the teaching; coaching and additional support for a caseload of learners within Haddon Training to ensure we meet all regulatory, quality and funding requirements. Your role will also involve supporting the delivery team to ensure all learners achieve and enable equality of opportunity for learners to reach their full potential.
**Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities**
- Maintain a caseload of learners
- All learners to receive monthly visits, as a minimum, for Functional Skills
- All learners to have access to remote visits and group webinar delivery
- All learners to maintain a secure audit trail to protect funds
- 75% Pass First Time rate for all Functional Skills exams
- 75% of learner caseload to achieve Functional Skills English and Maths at Level 2
- Less than 5% of learners past funding end date for Functional Skills
- All learners in receipt of ALN funds to have a robust and clear ALN Plan in place that is compliant with funding rules
- All learners in receipt of ALN funds to receive monthly ALN support visits
- All learners in receipt of ALN funds to have a secure audit trail in place
- Attend monthly team meetings & input to standardisation
- Monitor and maintain own CPD
- Support the Operations team CPD with regards to supporting SEN learners

**Essential Criteria**
- Demonstrate extensive experience within a teaching role
- Experience teaching Math and English to Level 2 / GCSE
- Experience teaching SEN learners
- Passion for work-based learning
- Extensive knowledge of various SEN needs and methods for teaching
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and math or ability to undertake them successfully within probation period
- Commitment to continuous professional development relevant to the industry area being assessed
- Produce excellent written and verbal communication skills with substantive experience of providing supportive, concise feedback to learners, assessors and key stakeholders
- Have experience of producing clear, accurate and detailed written reports, including remarks / enquiries about results
- Be a self-starter, with drive, ambition and investigative skills
- Demonstrate effective time management with the ability to prioritise, plan and organise effectively
- Have the ability to build a strong working relationship with employers, learners and colleagues
- Demonstrate outstanding integrity and interpersonal skills and behaviours and confidently deal with a wide range of people
- Be able to work on own with initiative and maturity but also able to work as a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude and a good sense of humour
- Have a customer focused commercial awareness
- Have proficient IT skills that include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Full Driving licence - Due to the nature of the job role and the geographical location of our customers, driving will be an essential part of the role.
- Desirable or willingness to work towards an assessor and a relevant teaching qualification if not already achieved
- Experience of preparing for and presenting to a target audience
**Desirable Criteria**
- PGCE, coaching or equivalent
- CAVA or equivalent
