**Job summary**:
DWP is looking to fill the G7 Head of Apprenticeship Strategy, Planning & Governance role in the Talent and Apprenticeship Team, part of the **Capability, Leadership and Talent **directorate. This is a key role and we are looking for someone who will help us grow and deliver our exciting** DWP Apprenticeship Strategy.**

**The DWP Apprenticeship Strategy was launched in April 2023. **Our project working with Investors in People has enabled us to build an apprenticeship offer for all professions and grades Our proactive, inclusive, profession led approach allows us to work in partnership with the organisation and third party providers, creating inclusive relevant apprentice programmes and delivering optimal employee experience.

**This role will**
- Be expected to work across the ‘Apprenticeship Centre of Expertise’, interfacing with the other G7 Head’s to support the holistic delivery of the DWP Apprenticeship Strategy
- Develop and deliver the DWP Apprenticeship Strategy and approach.
- Assessing and impacting policies, legislation, strategies and guidance that impact the use of apprenticeships in DWP.
- Development and delivery of engaging communication products promoting and energising the Apprenticeship brand enabling a professions led approach grounded in business need.

This role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to taking up your post.

**Responsibilities**
- Leadership of the Strategy, Governance & Planning team within the Apprenticeship Centre of Expertise
- Working with key stakeholders to develop approach to strategy delivery e.g. Senior Boards, Heads of Profession, Directors and HR
- Leading the work force planning process for apprentices at Profession and directorate level to establish workable forecasts aligned with overall business strategy and resource supply.
- Influence government policy and approach to apprenticeships - acting as the Single Point of Contact for Cabinet Office and Department for Education and the lead link into Big 5 government departments through regular meetings.
- Lead implementation of our Quality Framework. Design and lead evaluation, communications and engagement approach for the business
