We have a fantastic opportunity for a Family Contact Worker working at a Leading Local Authority in Greater Manchester. This is a full-time role for the next 2 - 3 months.

**The Role**

Your role will be to work alongside the social work team, facilitating family time (contract), with looked after children and their families. These will take place in the community e.g. sure starts, schools, community activities, this being in agreementby the allocated social worker and it being risk assessed.

**Duties**

Demonstrate a clear understanding of Child Protection procedures and principles and MCC social work procedures relating to court proceedings.

Contribute to the assessment of a child and family’s needs using the recognised Assessment Framework.

Be accountable for dealing with all aspects of a Contact visit, including ensuring that Contacts take place to the agreed plan and working with the families to resolve any behavioural and emotional issues that may arise from Contact.

Ensure that the Child’s Contact Record is complete with sufficient information and accuracy for the team around the child to use effectively and that any action plans are monitored, and any issues raised to the appropriate authority.

Personal commitment to continuous self-development and service improvement.

Where the role holder is disabled, every effort will be made to supply all necessary aids, adaptations or equipment to allow them to carry out all the duties of the role.If, however, a certain task proves to be unachievable, job redesign will be givenfull consideration.

**Key Requirements**
- Must have previous Family Contact Worker / Family Support Worker experience
- Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Locations will be South, Central and North Manchester
- Full UK Driving Licence, and access to a car would be beneficial
- Excellent IT Skills, for logging any information on the Internal systems.
- Excellent people skills, being able to talk to the public, clients, colleagues, and other senior professionals.
