If you’re looking to develop your role in clinical leadership within the context of all age safeguarding, then we have a great opportunity for you to do this as the Head of Safeguarding and Quality in Personalised Healthcare Commissioning (PHC), at scale.

The role will be responsive to Integrated Care Board (ICB) priorities, expectations and strategically mobilise the safeguarding services, which includes Court of Protection (CoP) services. The post will provide strong clinical leadership and create and maintain strong relationships with all health, social care and care systems.

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced clinical leader to head up our Specialist Safeguarding Service at scale. You will hold an active clinical registration and a broad experience across the health and care sector with experience as a strategic and operational leader of clinical services.

This role provides clinical leadership and professional expertise in managing a large team of clinical and non-clinical staff. You will be responsible for setting and maintaining quality standards and ensuring adherence to safeguarding legislation including the Mental Capacity Act (2005).

The post holder will be responsible for developing and setting best practice standards and service delivery relating to safeguarding legislation. The role includes responsibility for operationally managing the safeguarding services, strategic oversight of service implementation and monitoring of plans to ensure constant service improvement and development.

- Provide clinical leadership and expertise to the PHC workforce, acting in accordance safeguarding legislation. Provide professional leadership, motivation and support to PHC staff of all disciplines. Ensure compliance with statutory, mandatory local policy and guidance
- Provide specialist safeguarding advice and support to PHC colleagues and ensuring services are in line with safeguarding legislation.
- Lead on the delivery of safeguarding services ensuring organisational compliance with the law and safeguarding legislation.
- Strategically support PHC on highly complex, high-profile and high risk safeguarding cases.
- Lead on development of key performance indicators and assurance reports in line with customer requirements.
- Provide specialist clinical advice regarding safeguarding to ensure efficient services are in place to meet the needs of the population.
- Maintain oversight and management of the safeguarding process to ensure all safeguarding referrals are investigated in line with policy and framework within the PHC service.
- Lead on development and implementation of reporting processes to ensure a customer satisfaction.
- Professional responsibility to provide management and leadership for a large team of staff with a variety of backgrounds and professional disciplines.
- Working with the PHC Leads to ensure that the function is able to adapt and respond to realise opportunities to develop and grow the business.
- Set stretching objectives and targets for the senior management team which deliver both contractual and developmental outcomes.
- Instil a culture of customer-service and continuous improvement across the team, ensuring all team members understand their role in delivering success.
- To be trained to level four safeguarding training in line with the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) intercollegiate guidance and to be refreshed within three years.
