Plymouth, United Kingdom Plymouth City Council Full time

Visitor Support Officer Role Profile

We are recruiting for a seasonal Visitor Support Officer to help open Mount Edgcumbe House as a visitor attraction and event venue.

You will need to have a strong proven track record of customer care, computer literate with a knowledge of ticketing systems, sales, till audits, and have a good grounding in merchandising and an awareness of public safety issues.

Experience of working amongst a curated collection in an historic building environment will be a strong advantage.

You will be engaged in organising regular house tours, events, talks, and recitals introducing the story of the House, the Edgcumbe family and the collection. You will be responsible for the safety and security of the collection and for the safety of visitors and other members of staff when the House is open.

You must have knowledge of (and show a track record in) exemplary organisational skills and be able to demonstrate a knowledge of collection management and monitoring.

We are looking for an individual who has a knack for keeping calm and providing first class customer service when under conflicting demands from the public; an individual who can be both discreet and have the strength of character to enforce polite but firm rules within the House and Earl's Garden.

Within reason you will need to be flexible and be able to adjust your availability and hours of work to suit the demands of clients as well as the general opening hours.

For more information or an informal discussion, please contact David Marshall, Business Development Manager, on 01752 307260

**Closing date: Wednesday 8 May
