**The Package**

**The Role Housing Support Worker**

You will support women prison leavers (in a supported accommodation setting and the community with their housing needs and life skills in a person-centred, trauma informed way. This will involve:

- Supporting women prison leavers with mental health and wellbeing, by encouraging healthy activities and lifestyles, and signposting to services
- Assisting with claims for housing and associated benefits to support prison leavers financial stability
- Organising and managing a range of engaging activities to promote social inclusion
- Playing a hands-on role in responding to incidents appropriately, contacting and liaising with NWH staff, emergency services, voluntary and statutory agencies,
- Maintaining accurate service user records and files

Youll be working 30 hours per week on a 2-week rota. Shifts are as follows:

- ** Week 1** Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Friday 11:30am 8:30pm / 12pm to 8pm
- **Week 2** Tuesday, Wednesday 8:30pm 5.30pm, and Saturday and Sunday 09:0am 5:00pm

**Our Requirements Housing Support Worker**
- Either have the ability to hold at least basic conversations in Welsh (although you may struggle to keep up fully) or be currently learning / willing to learn Welsh to the required level
- Experience working in a client centred environment such as housing, care or similar (e.g., supporting individuals in reporting maintenance issues, making healthcare appointments, pursuing hobbies, securing training and employment, etc.)
- Knowledge of the support needs of vulnerable people
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Hard working, with a positive can do attitude
- At least have basic IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
