We are currently seeking a temporary Business Support Officer who is looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced role within our Business Support Team.
You will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective administrative support service to the teams within Business Support.
The role will primarily support the delivery of the Council's Private Sector Housing function, which has an important role in ensuring that people's homes are safe and healthy. The post holder will provide day to day support in administering the Environmental Health Team's work streams in relation to Houses in Multiple Occupation and grant work.
The core tasks will consist of inputting and extracting data using a range of management information systems, scanning, producing letters and notices, receipting payments and working to strict deadlines, to ensure that the work is completed in a timely manner. You will need the ability to work on your own initiative and being flexible in your approach. This will also include collating data to support with performance management.
Your key skills will include:
- You will be a team player and will have the ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- You will possess excellent organisational skills, be able to prioritise your own workload, work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
- Your communication skills will be paramount when liaising with members of the public, Senior Managers, and staff members across the organisation.
- You will be able to collate data to ensure the accurate input and maintenance of designated management information systems.
- You will have excellent ICT skills including the ability to use Word, Excel, Outlook, and other bespoke ICT packages as required

The successful applicant will be required to undergo security checks as part of the Baseline Personnel Security Standard for accessing Government records. This will include a Basic DBS check.
