We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our team to manage the Golf Club's finances. The Finance Officer / Treasurer’s position is a vital post at the centre of the business, reporting to the Secretary/Manager and the Council of Management. This is a very varied role and experience within a finance setting is essential.
The Finance Officer / Treasurer will be responsible for:
Ø Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
Ø Accounting for the day to day income of the Club including Bar and Restaurant takings
Ø Managing payments and any financial queries from suppliers
Ø Managing the annual golf subscription receipts, including the monthly direct debit facility
Ø Reconciling Bank Statements and Card Transactions and managing the procedures for online banking
Ø Administering payroll and monthly PAYE/NI
Ø Accounting for VAT under the Partial Exemption rules and submitting quarterly VAT returns
Ø Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts using Sage accounting software, and the Annual Budget
Ø At the year-end reconcile the Accounts prior to the Annual Audit and assist the Accountants as necessary
Ø Working closely with the Secretary/Manager on financial related matters
Ø Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting principles and regulations
Ø Attend Monthly Management Meetings as required and the Annual General Meeting, reporting on financial matters when needed
Ø To help out with other Office tasks and golf administration as required
Ø Solid knowledge and understanding of accounting procedures and principles
Ø Experience of Sage accounting software
Ø Experience or preparation and presentation of management accounts
Ø Excellent use of Microsoft Excel and Word
Ø Experience of cash handling and banking procedures
Ø The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a small team
Ø Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ø Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Ø Strong communication and interpersonal skills
