- Must be Portuguese(prefered) speaking woman with an understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on survivors and their children;
- Willingness to learn providing emotional and practical support to survivors of abuse;
- Basic knowledge of casework management skills and an ability to prioritise a busy workload;
- Passionate and strong advocacy skills on behalf of BME women survivors of abuse and those on rehabilitation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to express empathy and understanding with the survivors;
- Tolerance and respect for different cultures and an open mind to how abuse may present differently in different cultures and ethnic backgrounds;
- An understanding of the specific types of abuse faced by migrant women;
- Ability to learn to work from a woman-centred, trauma-informed and survivor-led approach;
- Providing advice, advocacy, and other available support for the female ex-offenders, as indicated by PHOEBE’s CEO.
- Learn to Assess clients’ needs and create individual support plans, carry out risk assessments, and safety planning and accompany clients to their court meetings if required
- Monitoring data and completing registers as per given instructions and promote our projects and increase awareness in the community.
- Promote our projects and increase awareness in the community and follow our safeguarding policy, data protection policy, and other relevant policies (which will be provided upon your employment).
- Ability to forward plan and think strategically
- Good organisational, record keeping and planning skills;

**Qualifications**
- Preferably educated to diploma or degree level in relevant area (e.g Psychology, Sociology or related degree);
- A positive approach to completing relevant short courses and qualifications. Some understanding of the importance of Safeguarding in the workplace will be beneficial

**Key duties and responsibilities**
- Managing a busy caseload in a fast-paced environment;
- Providing advice and advocacy support for survivors of violence against women and children. This includes assisting in securing safe, temporary accommodation in refuges for women and children feeling abuse;
- Providing effective crisis intervention;
- Carrying out risk assessments, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning;
- Providing advice, advocacy, and other available support for the PHOEBE beneficiaries, as indicated by PHOEBE’s manager.
- Accompany clients to their court meetings if required
- Monitoring data and completing registers as per given instructions.
- Promote our projects and increase awareness in the community.
- Follow our safeguarding policy, data protection policy, and other relevant policies (which will be provided upon your employment).
- Supervise the progress clients make while using Phoebe’s services.

**Additional responsibilities**

1. The nature of Phoebe’s work is such that tasks and responsibilities can be unpredictable and/or varied. All staff are therefore expected to work in a flexible manner when tasks that are not specifically covered in their job description have to be undertaken;
2. The post-holder will, as required, contribute to materials/resources/publications/newsletters/ website and team meetings

**Job Type**: Part-time
