Are you a Physiotherapist looking to develop your skills in Pelvic Health?


We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 looking to develop their skills in the area of Pelvic Health at Ipswich Hospital, part of ESNEFT. The service is outpatient based on a Monday to Friday basis. The service runs from a base within the Trust but has satellite clinics at multiple locations in the area of East Suffolk.


Men, women and children are treated by the team for pelvic pain, urinary and faecal incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunctions. Ideally you will have some experience in women's and men's health, musculoskeletal assessment and treatment of spinal and pelvic pain and knowledge of pre and post-operative assessment and treatment either undergraduate or post graduate, however, full training will be given and funding for courses is available.


A band 5/6 run through would be supported by the team.
To work as a member of the Integrated Therapies team, providing services for the Pelvic Health Unit. This includes assessing and treating men, women and children with bladder, bowel and pelvic floor dysfunction and obstetric outpatients, antenatal classes and postnatal exercise groups.


To provide an evidence based physiotherapy service that adheres to HCPC, CSP, CQC and Trust clinical and quality standards


To supervise and assist in the development of junior physiotherapists, non-qualified staff and students on placement


To demonstrate commitment to Continuous Professional Development

The department regularly offers placements to undergraduate physiotherapists, you will be responsible for supervising students and band 5 physiotherapists consequently experience in supervision and reflective learning would be an advantage.


Travel to other sites will be part of your role and so you will need to have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.


Developing interest in the field of Women's Health, with either undergraduate or postgraduate experience in the speciality and one in musculoskeletal outpatients
BSc /MSc Physiotherapy
A related post-graduate course: e.g. post graduate diploma in obstetrics and Gynae/continence, or the intention to achieve.
Evidence of continuing professional development including a portfolio of reflective learning and evaluation of in-service training.

Information technology and computer literacy.

Principles and practices of rehabilitation including knowledge of the benefits of exercise and education
Knowledge of local community services and value of inter-agency working
Ability to travel across Ipswich and East Suffolk area using own transport
