**Job overview**:
This is a new role for our Trust and we are looking for an exceptional individual who will, as part of the Senior Leadership Team, support the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in providing clinical oversight of the systems of quality and safety for the delivery of care within CFT. This will include support in the delivery of assurance to the board and the presentation of papers at Board and senior executive management meetings and providing professional leadership to doctors across all community and mental health directorates.

**Main duties of the job**:
Leading on specific governance areas of quality and patient safety you will be the Responsible Officer (RO) for revalidation, Lead Doctor for Safeguarding and the Deputy Caldicott Guardian. You will also take a lead in restructuring the medical workforce and recruitment and retention. It will be important for you to take a key leadership and specialist role in reaching across the system as part of the established provider collaborative, with the acute provider (Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust) and the Cornwall ICS.

We are seeking an exceptional Doctor with experience as either a GP, Psychiatrist or Consultant from a complex healthcare setting, with significant understanding of and empathy for the services we provide. You must have a current GMC Registration and be licensed to practice. An inspirational and compassionate leader you will provide direction, purpose, pace and energy to ensure the medical and workforce is engaged, empowered, well
- informed and supported throughout the Trust.
