A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a leading company as an IS Systems Administrator based out of their Aycliffe site. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a junior IT Administrator to flourish, supported by a team of experienced professionals.

The Opportunity

Salary : £26,000 - £29,000
Location : Aycliffe, County Durham
Hybrid working : No, this role is based on site 5 days a week.
Working Hours : 38 hours per week. Core hours are 09:00-15:00 Mon-Thur & 09:00-13:00 Fri.

THE ROLE

As the first point of contact for technical issues on a manufacturing site, the IS Systems Administrator role plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations and minimizing downtime. Operating within a fast-paced environment, this role requires a blend of technical expertise, customer service skills, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- ** First Point of Contact**: Serve as the initial contact for all technical support inquiries, promptly responding to and triaging incoming tickets or calls.
- ** Issue Identification and Resolution**: Utilize troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues efficiently. This may involve diagnosing problems remotely or providing hands-on support onsite.
- ** Ticket Management**: Effectively manage service requests through our ticketing system, ensuring accurate documentation of issues and resolutions for future reference.
- ** User Assistance**: Provide guidance and assistance to end-users, helping them navigate technical challenges and empowering them to utilize our systems effectively.
- ** Collaboration**: Collaborate closely with other IT team members and external vendors to escalate and resolve complex issues that require additional expertise.
- ** Proactive Maintenance**: Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates and hardware checks, to prevent potential issues and optimize system performance.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You will have a real aptitude for IT and problem solving. Ideally, you'll bring 18 - 24 months of experience in a similar support role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- ** Service Desk Experience**: Prior experience in a service desk environment is preferred.
- ** Technical Exposure**: Familiarity with network support, VMWare, and Cisco products is advantageous.
- ** Communication**: Excellent communication skills are vital as this role involves interaction with internal staff across the site.
- ** Attributes**: You should be a natural problem solver, self-motivated, conscientious, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively.
