**The role**:
Are you an experienced operational leader with a passion for project management and a knack for driving transformative change? We are seeking two exceptional individuals to take on the pivotal role of Head of Faculty Transition and Projects at the University of Bristol. In this capacity, you will play a key role in shaping and guiding our new faculties towards a dynamic and successful future, driving forward strategic initiatives, facilitating change, and supporting staff.

This role will offer additional capacity to deliver projects that drive our mission forward. This means you'll be at the heart of our efforts to innovate and enhance our services, all within the context of the University Structures 2030 programme and/or major change initiatives such as our new campus development at Temple Quarter.

In the first instance the roles are offered on a 2-year basis with an end date of July 2025.

**What will you be doing?**:
As the Head of Faculty Transition and Projects, you will be at the forefront of our strategic initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

- **Strategic Leadership**: Providing leadership to guide our faculties through periods of transition and change. Your expertise will be instrumental in steering us towards our desired future state.
- **Project Management Excellence**: Overseeing and managing critical projects that align with the faculties' goals and objectives. Your effective project management will be a driving force in our success.
- **Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Collaborating closely with various stakeholders, both within the faculties and across the university. Your ability to build bridges and foster cooperation will be invaluable.
- **Innovation**: Championing innovative solutions and best practices that enhance our processes and outcomes. Your creative thinking will keep us driving improved service delivery across education and research.
- **Team Leadership**: Establish and lead project teams dedicated to delivering positive outcomes that align with the Faculty and University strategies.

- **Proven Leadership**: Substantial operational experience in a large, complex organisation, demonstrating the ability to lead and manage teams and processes effectively.
- **Effective Communication**: Proven ability to interact successfully with staff at all levels and diverse external contacts, handling complex issues and commanding respect.
- **Change Management**: Track record of managing change and successfully delivering projects or programmes.
- **Analytical Skills**: Experience in data analysis to inform reporting, develop business cases, and make informed decisions.
- **Financial Acumen**: Strong financial experience to enable resource allocation.
- **Planning Expertise**: Excellent planning and coordination skills, adaptable to changing priorities and timelines.
- **Educational Background**: Professional qualification or relevant degree, plus substantial managerial experience, or extensive experience in a relevant role.
- **Current Knowledge**: Good understanding of current issues impacting the university, faculties, and schools.

**Additional information**:
**Contract type: Open Ended with Fixed Funding until July 2025.**
