**Job description**

Flying Logistics Sea Freight Ltd is an international freight solutions company with a headquarters located in Essex, dealing with sea freight. We also have 2 more branches, one in Heathrow dealing with air and road freight and a branch in Belgium handling freight between the UK and EU countries. Flying Logistics Sea Freight Ltd is looking for an Accounts Assistant suitable for a role in a fast-paced Freight Forwarders based in our Basildon head office.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented individual with a keen eye for detail. You will be confident, ideally with an accounts background, and have the enthusiasm to work in a high volume environment. You will have the use of Microsoft Excel and preferably Xero accounting platform. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with all financial and non-financial colleagues, clients and customers.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Able to perform bank reconciliations
- Process sale and purchase invoices with accounting nominal code knowledge
- Run monthly payroll
- Understanding of accrual and prepayment journals
- Processing of fixed assets and depreciation
- Understanding and processing customer and supplier deposits.
- Understanding of credit control.
- Be able to perform a VAT reconciliation
- Knowledge of how to deal with potential bad debts
- Knowledge of balance sheet
- Able to perform monthly/quarterly management accounts
- Processing of monthly expenses
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work using own initiative and within a team

**Qualifications**
- Must have minimum 2 years accounts experience.
- Familiar with Xero Accounts Software is preferable
- We are looking for an excellent communicator with good computer literacy
- Able to work to a high standard and ensure 100% accuracy.
- Good team player, that can work under pressure.
- Essential Microsoft skill i.e. Excel & Word documents
- Understanding of credit control.
- Freight forward experience is preferred, but not essential
