**Music Vehicle Officer - Music Service - Grade 5**

**Our Service**

Lancashire Music Service (LMS) is part of Cultural Services within Lancashire County Council operating in a competitive environment, generating business whilst providing outstanding standards of customer care for both internal and external customers.

The Business Support Team is focused on supporting and maintaining these standards and has a significant role in the continuing expansion of the Music Service by displaying a professional attitude and commitment to the delivery of a first-class administrative service in all aspects of our business.

LMS provides tuition, ensembles and support to children and young people to access musical opportunities, including instrumental and singing lessons. The service has over 120 specialist teachers delivering weekly tuition to over 20,000 pupils with excess of 26,000 instruments on loan to schools and families across the county. LMS enables pupils to develop their musical skills through a range of bands and orchestras. 9 Music Centres and 6 County Ensembles meet in the evenings and at weekends providing a range of ensembles from beginner to advanced levels.

The service is also Lead organisation for Lancashire Music Education Hub, which receives grant funding from the Department of Education, to bring together local, regional and national partners to support the delivery of the National Plan for Music Education.

**The Role**

You will be responsible for planning and supporting music based activities on the mobile music vehicle, working alone to deliver efficient day to day running of the LMS music vehicle offer. You will communicate the music vehicle offer to schools and partners, drive a large goods vehicle and keep the vehicle clean and ready for children and young people to come onboard, and support all aspects of the sessions that will be delivered by a music specialist. You will report to the instrument warehouse manager and regional manager. Flexibility is key as the role will include evening and weekend work working with a range of stakeholders in the communities of Lancashire.

**About You**

You will be an outstanding driver, and colleague, who can integrate well into a team environment within the business support team. You must have excellent customer service, ICT skills and be good at managing challenges and change. You will also need to communicate effectively with a range of audiences and the have the ability to work independently. You should be kind and considerate to children and young people engaging with the opportunities of the music vehicle at all times.
