Recovery Officer

Sunderland City Council are looking to recruit a permanent Recovery Officer to work within the Accounts Receivable Team.
The successful applicant will manage a caseload of accounts relating to Sundry Debts raised on Civica and SAP finance systems and deal with recovery of Housing Benefit Overpayments.
You should enjoy working in a busy, ever-changing environment with a varied workload and be able to manage your work within the required timescales. The main objective of the post is the maximisation of income by effective administration, knowledge of debt recovery and Legal and Enforcement protocols.
A working knowledge of a Debt Recovery Framework would be preferred.
This post requires you to explain and deal with complicated information, negotiate and secure payments to achieve optimum collection rates but at the same time work accurately to achieve results.
