To ensure that the residents have balanced and nutritious food.

To Ensure that the kitchen is kept in a clean and hygienic condition in accordance with the Environmental Health and Safety policies.

To do general kitchen duties for example: washing-up.

To liaise with residents with regards to daily menus.

To cover kitchen staff in cases of holidays or sickness.

Requires Food Hygiene Certificate.

Summary of main Duties

To Maintain a nutritional and varied diet to all residents.

To prepare Breakfast, Lunch, Tea and be aware of any resident's particular needs, diets, allergies etc.

To carry out checks on kitchen appliances and keep records of such checks.

To maintain all kitchen schedules as defined by all legislation.

To observe general rules of safety in the home and to advise Manager where necessary. Equipment and facilities should be used in a safe and proper manner, and all hazards or defect should be reported to the Home Manager in their absence. All staff are to be aware of the Health and Safety Policy, Health and Safety Risk Assessments and Fire Risk Assessments.
