As a Healthcare Public Health Specialist, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Healthcare Public Health (HCPH) Team within NHSE East of England to manage and develop projects in line with the national and regional priorities, and HCPH delivery plans.

The post holder will be responsible for providing professional Population Health specialist advice and support to facilitate restoration and recovery of services addressing mental health, learning disability, Cancer and Long-Term conditions in NHSE East of England

The role includes providing appropriate input to the annual commissioning cycle and ensuring health improvement is a key outcome of the process. He/she/they will lead on core public health analytical or evaluation functions in relation to these services requiring using complex data from different sources and negotiating conclusions in a challenging environment. There is a requirement to generate new knowledge and information through undertaking needs assessment, audit, evaluation and research.

The regional NHS England Healthcare Public Health team are seeking to recruit a specialist Healthcare Public Health Specialist for supporting restoration and recovery of services addressing mental health, learning disability, Cancer and Long-Term conditions in the East of England

The Healthcare Public Health (HCPH) Team in the East of England region sets out to improve healthcare by ensuring services are effective, efficient, accessible and equitable to all those who need it. We provide an objective perspective and view healthcare through a population health and complex systems lens to:

- Reduce demand for NHS services through prevention
- Identify & reduce inequalities and unfairness
- Improve health-related outcomes

The role includes providing appropriate input to the annual commissioning cycle and ensuring health improvement is a key outcome of the process. You will lead on core public health analytical or evaluation functions in relation to these services requiring using complex data from different sources and negotiating conclusions in a challenging environment. There is a requirement to generate new knowledge and information through undertaking needs assessment, audit, evaluation and research.

You will coordinate and deliver high-quality professional public health input, support, and advice within NHSE and other stakeholders to drive improvements in population outcomes and a reduction in health inequalities across the region.

The post will be hybrid working with occasional office days based in the NHSE East of England (Cambridge) and will report to a Consultant in the Healthcare Public Health team and be accountable to the Deputy Director of Healthcare Public Health.
