Market Insight and Data Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to support the new Market Insight and Data function within Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions (MRA). Having received significant investment in our strategy, this new role will be pivotal in supporting strategic evidence-based decision making, with a particular focus on pre-enrolment and scholarships.
A motivated self-starter, this role will report into the Market Insight and Data Manager and support them by analysing and interpreting key data sets for multiple projects to aid progress towards Imperial meeting its ambitious objectives.
With multiple internal stakeholders, the role holder will support on the development and delivery of analysis that informs marketing, student recruitment admissions activity including Fees, scholarships and bursaries, competitors, market position, applicant experience and behaviour, brand perception and portfolio development.
In particular, this role will spend a large proportion of their time evaluating Imperial’s scholarship and studentship offering; supporting Imperial, its Faculties, Departments, Schools Institutes and Centres in understanding their effectiveness, and offering recommendations to maximise their impact and best meet recruitment objectives through continuous improvement

**Duties and responsibilities**:
In this role, you will...
- Evaluate and make recommendations on the success of and impact of Imperial’s scholarships - monitoring awareness, intake, progression and success
- Coordinate and manage the College’s internal Scholarships and Studentships network
- Cultivate relationships and build networks with a wide range of staff at all levels who are involved in the financial planning, marketing and administration of scholarships and studentships
- Combine numerical data and desk-based research with insights from key stakeholders to produce clear recommendations for scholarship provision
- Produce a practical methodology for evaluation, collating evidence to produce clear insight, challenges and opportunities in the future design and marketing of scholarships and studentships
- Organise opinion panels, qualitative focus groups and short surveys/polls to understand the prospective student voice
- Coordinate competitor monitoring across a range of different media to collate and report on findings and make recommendations to appropriate colleagues in a timely manner
- Represent the Market Insight and Data team to present relevant findings at the Scholarships and Studentships Steering Committee or Student Recruitment, Marketing or Admissions meetings where appropriate
- Monitor and collate sector published research and identify relevant insight that can be used to inform future direction into market intelligence
- Design, build and administer short online surveys which inform student recruitment activity (e.g., event feedback and acceptor/decliner surveys) in addition to other survey insight needs as required
- Support the Market Insight and Data Manager in portfolio and analysis and new course proposals, producing market demand reports for Departments and Faculties, working closely with the appropriate Faculty Marketing Manager or Marketing contact. This will involve analysis of large UCAS and HESA datasets, in addition to considering the graduate labour market insight data and desk research.
**Note**: We are currently trialling a hybrid approach - a minimum of two days/ week will be required in our office on our South Kensington Campus during this period
**Essential requirements**:
We’re looking for a proactive, self-starter with a passion for data, and how it can inform decisions. Therefore, demonstrable experience of interrogating and analysing large datasets to deliver recommendations and actionable insight is essential, including experience of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and being able to present findings effectively to deliver recommendations.
You will be an effective communicator and collaborate with a wide cross-section of stakeholders. Whilst not essential, having a knowledge, understanding and curiosity of the higher education landscape is desirable.
