We have an excellent opportunity for someone highly motivated and ready to join our busy team in the role of Business Support Officer (BSO) Grade 5, within the Care Finance Assessment Team's Deprivation and Deferred Payments Team.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual with excellent customer care skills who is a team player and willing to be flexible in their approach to work. The applicant must be willing to work full-time 37 hours per week and the post is permanent. Our normal business office working hours are from 8:45 to 5 pm Monday to Friday as we operate a duty telephone number during these times. The successful applicant will be required to provide office cover until 5 pm on a rota basis.

You need to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, using interpersonal skills including the ability to exercise sensitivity and empathy at what could be a difficult time for the service user.

**Skills and experience**:

- Experience in administration, ICT skills and finance with good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Previous relevant experience or the ability to demonstrate competence/capacity to carry out the job.
- Possession of, or the ability to demonstrate the capability to gain, relevant qualifications, licences or equivalent where applicable.
- In addition to the skills knowledge and experience described above, you may be required to undertake a lower-grade role as appropriate.
