Historic England are seeking a Sector Resilience & Skills Support Officer to join our Sector Resilience and Skills team to work towards a fit for purpose sector: a diverse, skilled, and socially relevant workforce, and effective resilient and connected organisations.

You will have the opportunity to work across some of our current priority projects including: assisting the sector to reach Net Zero, delivering a programme to address heritage skills shortages, and leading the sector to greater collaboration on systemic skills issues.

This is a reactive and flexible role where we need you to join us in working with colleagues across the team on the development and implementation of our key projects.

National Salary: £30,155 - £30,300 pro-rata dependant on experience.

What you will be doing

You will play a key role in developing and starting to deliver a programme of quarterly webinars for the Skills Forum; working with Steering Group members as appropriate.

You will coordinate the mapping of skills projects being undertake by organisations within the Forum.

We need you to assist the development of a sector-accessible “one stop shop” for materials on skills development (case studies, templates etc).

You will have the opportunity to work closely with with external consultants to deliver a project to compile and create resources to support heritage organisations understand carbon emissions.

We need you to assist the Sector Skills Manager in exploring potential expansion of the Hamish Ogston Foundation Heritage Building Skills programme.

You will provide a range of administrative functions within the three key projects, including convening meetings, collating and sharing resources and taking action points.

We will require your contribution to Corporate Reports; Key Performance Indicator or any external funder requirements.

What we are looking for:

- Experience coordinating or administering complex people-centred projects. E.g planning activities, maintaining relationships, monitoring and reporting, working with budgets
- Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders, at various levels of seniority
- Good negotiating and influencing skills
- Self-starter
- Strong problem-solving skills
