An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the UEC directorate as a Deputy Matron in the Acute Medicine and SDEC specialty.
Working with a vision of “delivering excellence in all that we do” the Deputy Matron will work with the Specialty Matron to monitor, and improve the quality of patient care across the Specialty. The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the progression of meaningful changes to patient pathways and ensuring they are embedded into the service.
Operational and clinical duties - focus on patient flow / governance / pathways
Main duties of the job
The Deputy Matron will act as a senior for the Specialty, assessing patients and providing expert advice to nursing staff and the Multi-Disciplinary teams and taking on the duties of the Matron in their absence. They will be expected to be an effective leader and act as a role model within the service and make decisions based on reasoned evidence and within National and Trust-wide procedures and guidelines. Working with the Matron to ensure delivery of excellent patient care and outcomes. Assisting on the implementation of new projects within Acute Medicine and SDEC alongside the Specialty General Manager and service manager. Working closely with the Acute Medicine Consultant team and ACP’s on pathway design and implementation.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
