Support Worker to The Elderly

Beaconsfield, United Kingdom Right at Home - High Wycombe Full time

_**Do something really worthwhile full time or part time - Support the local elderly at home**_

**Full or Part Time Flexible Hours**

Some of our team choose part-time hours whilst others work full-time. We are visiting clients 7 days a week from 7am - 10pm and have opportunities to work in the mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends allowing the role to fit around your home life.

**What’s In It For You?**

The competitive pay of £12.75 rising to £19.12 on bank holidays, per hour of care delivered, **PLUS**:holiday pay**, **paid mileage, realistic travel time between clients and company pension contributions are all important

However, what most of our Home Support Assistants say they value is; being part of a supportive team, having their suggestions listened to, learning new skills and doing a job that consistently and genuinely makes a positive difference to someone’s life.

**The Role**

Our Care and Support Companions typically spend 1 hour visiting each of our private clients who range from their early 60’s up to 103 years old and live in their own homes across Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Chalfont, Stokenchurch, Great Missenden and surrounding areas.

Duties differ from visit to visit. Many clients just need a little help getting their meals prepared or keeping on top of basic housework, gardening or going to the shops. Whilst a few require varying levels of personal care or medication support. One task that will be ever present is the ability to make a good cup of tea and have a friendly chat.

**About You**

You may or may not have previously worked or volunteered in community care and support. It really does not matter as we look to employ and train new team members based on their personal values rather than existing care experience.

We have learnt that many of the following words describe people who excel and enjoy working as a Home Companion: Kind, Reliable, Friendly, Compassionate, Chatty, Flexible and Honest. You will need a full UK Driving Licence with access to a car.

**Are You New to Home Care?**

As a brand new Caregiver, going into someone’s home to deliver care and support can seem a daunting prospect. To ensure you are fully prepared all staff undertake a thorough face-face training program at our office followed by shadow training and then regular refresher training.

Your initial home visits will always be carried out alongside an experienced colleague whilst you ‘find your feet’. You will also have management support on every home visit you then make. Never will you be ‘thrown in at the deep end’

**About Right at Home**

Right at Home High Wycombe is one of only 3 Home Care providers in Buckinghamshire to be rated by the CQC as ‘Outstanding’. We are part of a network of 70 Right at Home branches that focus on quality rather than quantity

Homecare.co.uk, the UK’s largest Independent homecare review website rank Right at Home as the no.1 Homecare provider in the Wycombe District, with a Client review score of 9.9 out 10. For the third successive year we have been awarded 5 Star Employer Status by WorkBuzz the independent employee engagement research company.

**Career Development**

We know that most Care Assistants love being out in the community visiting clients. We also know that others will eventually be looking to move into one of our office based roles or a supervisory / management position.

Where possible, we firstly look to promote from within, which is supported by the relevant training and coaching to help you move up the career ladder, should you wish.

Thank you for considering a role with Right at Home High Wycombe & South Bucks.
