**Main purpose of post**

The Head of Services will work as part of the Senior Management Team for Cosgrove Care with a key focus on the design, delivery, and development of high quality services which are fully compliant with regulatory bodies and meet and exceed expected standards. The Head of Services will lead key members of operational staff to deliver against the strategy, ensuring efficient, effective and person centred supports are provided. The post holder will work with the Corporate Management Team (CMT) to develop and implement a clear strategic direction for Cosgrove which includes developing new service models, securing outcomes focused provision and supporting the diversification of income. The development of innovative approaches to practice is key to this role. So too is engaging and developing a high performing operational team.

**Key tasks**

1.To be a key member of the Corporate Management Team leading and directing Cosgrove Care with responsibility for the delivery of compliant, high quality operational services and review the evolution of services. To directly lead and line manage registered managers within the structure.

2.To design and implement effective systems for reporting progress and impact against the strategy, reporting regularly to CMT and to the Board and Committees of Cosgrove Care.

3. To be responsible for the development and oversight of operational budgets and for negotiating budgets with the Director of Finance and Corporate Services with partner funders.

4.To take a lead role in developing relationships and services with key commissioners across Scotland, taking a proactive approach to service development, review and re-design.

4.To work with the CMT to develop new and innovative service models which focus on early intervention and prevention and meet the needs of people within our communities. To drive innovation, evolution and change which meets and exceeds expectations.

5.To lead Cosgrove’s operational delivery teams, supporting them to develop, focus on outcomes and comply with Cosgrove’s policies, procedures. To design and implement effective systems for review and development of services, ensuring compliance with Care Inspectorate Standards and working closely with the Head of Quality and Participation.

6.To ensure effective communication and meeting systems operate within the organisation for operations and support improvements and developments in this area. To ensure continued compliance with our Investors in People standard and other key areas of accreditation. To drive up standards across areas of operational service delivery.

7.To report as appropriate to the Board of Directors in terms of delivery against key strategic objectives and to influence and support wider organisational development in relation to the development of Cosgrove’s Services with a particular focus on sustained growth and driving improvements.

8.To work with the CMT to ensure that Cosgrove has a strong profile within the sector, is influencing national policy and practice and is engaged in key policy and practice development forums.

9.To represent Cosgrove Care on a range of local and national forums and translate changes in policy and practice nationally into revised practice for Cosgrove to ensure compliance and quality.

10.To lead and inspire the operational teams, supporting their development, ensuring that structures are fit for purpose and staff has the skills, expertise and training to deliver against their objectives and wider organisational vision.
