**Head of Production & Assembly - Hooper Quinn**
Ref: V0124

Term: Permanent, full-time

Location: On site, Oxfordshire

**Salary**: Competitive, experience dependant

Start date: Late-February, March

Application closing date: 16/02/2024

**Summary**:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Hooper Quinn for a highly motivated and experienced engineer to establish in-house production capabilities and take an exciting new venture into low-volume production. As Head of Production & Assembly you will be responsible for the establishment and efficient operation of a brand-new manufacturing facility, implementing its operational processes, coordinating the build of all pre
- production and production units, and overseeing all other production-related activities.

The role requires occasional travel to support prototype demonstrations at prestigious events, including the Monaco Yacht Show, and to support the supply, installation, and servicing of products, engaging directly with clients. As such, the role also demands high degrees of equanimity and discretion.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Prototype Builds: o Adopt a comprehensive understanding of the product, the assembly tasks, tools, and software by building prototype products with the engineering teams. o Prepare prototypes for customer demonstrations and events. o Identify opportunities and create concepts for tooling and assembly fixtures via build trials and product testing.

2. Facility Setup: o Lead the planning and execution of facility setup, including the assembly line floorplan, equipment procurement, and infrastructure implementation. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the highest industry standards. o Oversee the installation of production machinery, ensuring efficiency and safety.

4. Team Leadership: o Be responsible for the recruitment, training, and supervision of a skilled production team and associated sub-teams. o Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, and become an ambassador for the wider company’s values. o Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting a positive and high
- performance work environment.

5. Quality Assurance: o Establish and maintain robust quality control processes throughout the production cycle; identify all opportunities for improving quality and capture all issues before products leave the production line. o Develop quality standards, inspection protocols, and corrective action plans. o Lead a Quality Assurance team to ensure only flawless, premium products leave our facility.

6. Inventory Management: o Oversee stock management, ensuring optimal levels of materials and finished goods. o Implement inventory tracking systems to minimise discrepancies and streamline replenishment processes. o Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers for timely and cost-effective material procurement.

7. Customer Liaison and Product Support: o Support the dispatch of products and deliveries with our concierge service partners. o Undertake occasional travel to the south of France and other regions to support onboarding of the products onto superyachts. o Coordinate continuous improvement and failure resolutions with mechanical and software teams.

8. Health and Safety: o Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. o Implement safety protocols and conduct regular training sessions to promote a safe working environment. o Collaborate with relevant authorities to mitigate potential safety risks.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years in industry.
- Proven experience in production management, with a track record of having successfully set up and managed manufacturing facilities.
- In-depth knowledge of industry-specific regulations, quality control processes, and health and safety standards, with proficiency in relevant software packages.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse, cross
- functional team.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities with a passion for innovation and for people.

**Company Overview**:
Hooper Quinn is a trusted engineering consultancy that brings technical and strategic excellence to the development of products and technologies, providing expertise to innovators and pioneers through a range of services which together make up a complete design and development ecosystem.

Combining rigorous technical principles and a values-driven philosophy, our high-impact team of engineers assembled from top-tier F1 teams provides an experienced, multi-discipline resource that empowers our clients to pursue their vision with confidence.
