Stantec has a reputable and well-established Transport Planning Team spread across the UK and we are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Transport Planner to join us. This role can be based in either our Edinburgh or Glasgow City Centre office.

We are the top consultant in the transport planning lot of the City of Edinburgh Council’s Professional Services Framework. That means you will have an opportunity to work across some of the Council’s flagship programmes, which will see the city transformed within the next 10 years. Our team also works across our UK-wide business with an excellent range of clients, from local authorities to government and the private sector. Our client-focused and results-driven approach has enhanced our reputation as one of the leading transport consultancies in the UK. The team has grown significantly in recent years, including 40 Transport Planners based in Scotland, and we are now looking to further strengthen and grow our offering.

You will support on the development of local, regional and national transport strategies and the delivery of monitoring and evaluation studies. You will conduct research and analyse data to support transport projects while preparing fee proposals and tenders. Project management will be an important part of your role, ensuring that quality projects are delivered on time and with budget. You will also be involved in fee proposals and tenders.

**About You**:
We bring imagination and determination to every challenge and your passion for developing transport and mobility solutions will be critical to your success in this role. You will have a keen interest in keeping up to date with developments and emerging trends in transport planning.

You will have a minimum of four years’ experience working in transport planning, preferably having been involved in the assessment and development of sustainable transport schemes in an urban environment.

You will be numerate with solid report writing skills and an eye for detail. As an excellent communicator, you will have the ability to advise both internal and external stakeholders.

Ideally, you will have some experience or be interested in getting involved in project management, as well as supervising and mentoring junior staff.

You will be degree qualified, ideally in transportation / town planning, geography, civil engineering or a related field. The role will provide you with significant prospects for professional developments to achieve your professional qualification, which you will be working towards.
