The Transport Planner will Responsible for all customer transport activity within business unit, ensuing that legal compliance and EHS polices are adhered to.

Operating within all transport related processes and policies, in order to meet our customer valueproposition, whilst ensuring OTIF performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Previous experience within supply chain, inventory management or planning role is essential as well as working knowledge of the below;
  • Manage all commercial vehicle movements across Business Unit to meet the Jewson customer value proposition
  • Management of delivery capacity across the Business Unit with the customer in mind
  • Planning local branch deliveries, allocating deliveries and transport movements for the Business Unit to meet customer requirements
  • Manage driver resource across Business Unit to fulfil Jewson customer value proposition
  • Supporting local branch managers with local driver related issues and identifying challenges and solutions
  • Responsible for adherence to transport legal compliance and related EHS
  • Manage and identify legal compliance related issues across the business unit
- through audits and KPI's and other key stakeholders.

  • Provide coaching to local branch managers with regard to transport and legal
- compliance related material, identifying knowledge gaps.

  • Implementation of national, regional and local transport strategies across the Business Unit.
  • Overall visibility of DMS across the Business Unit, intervening as required.
