Job Title: Adult Services Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Group Lead

Reporting to: Group Head of Clinical Practice

Location: National

Job scope:

- Strategic development of the PBS strategy across the Salutem family in line with National Guidance
- To aid the growth and recognition of the Salutem portfolio Nationwide.
- To undertake management responsibilities as directed by the Head of Positive Behaviour Support and the senior management team.
- Work collaboratively with the people we support, their families, clinical and operational colleagues.
- Provide PBS consultation and leadership to colleagues, ensuring safety, promoting recovery and outstanding service provision.
- Leadership and oversight of the Salutem restraint reduction strategy and Positive Response Training licensing responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP
- To provide line management and practice leadership to staff reportable to your position
- To lead on the collaborative design and implementation of an integrative PBS Framework.
- Report on the PBS and RRP key performance indicators.
- Receive and allocate support requests and support team workloads and facilitate a collaborative approach for complex cases.
- National Leadership and reporting for Reducing Restrictive Practice across Adult services.
- Create and maintain good working relationships with practice networks, sponsoring authorities, professionals and families.
BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT
- To ensure that high standards of professional care for all service users are adopted and maintained by ensuring the support practices deliver best practice guidelines and achieve organisational and individuals’ objectives.
- To support the staff teams in focusing on quality-of-life outcomes of the people we support, promoting skills development and reducing­­/eliminating the use of restrictive practice.
Assessment and Intervention
- To undertake or supervise holistic assessments such as individualised functional assessment, integrated assessments of the nature and context of the behaviours that challenge and produce comprehensive reports.
- To co-ordinate Multi disciplinary formulations and multiagency action plans on the behalf of the people we support
- To assist Directors and Regional Directors to implement agreed PBSP and Reducing Restrictive Practice strategies via direct and indirect support.
Monitoring/Review
- Monitor the implementation of service level performance measures and individual PBSP and RRP plans and to review their effectiveness, amend and redevelop as required.
- Monitor and analyse data in order to evidence change and demonstrate measurable outcomes for the people we support.
- Chair root cause analysis meetings, provide feedback and advice to staff teams attending and compile reports which are solution focused.
- Report against the Salutem Reducing Restraint Network Pledges
GENERAL SUPPORT
- Participate in the design and delivery of ongoing develop of training in relation to Positive Behaviour Support, including but not exclusive to: Physical Restraint and Person Centered Active Support.
- To actively promote and ensure safeguarding best practice in all of our services.
- Participate in the assessment of prospective new business, contributing to service needs assessments, transition plans and interim PBS plans.
- Promote and maintain effective channels of communication between Multi agency Core Groups and behavioural support personnel to ensure consistency and continuity.
OTHER
- Comply with and ensure compliance with company Policies & Procedures.
- Participate in regular Management, Supervision, Appraisal, Support and Development sessions with your Line Manager.
- Participate in your own personal development training associated with the work (including CPD courses, and to undertake any training as required by the post).
- To Maintain confidentiality in relation to company, and personal information in line with the data protection act 1998, and GDPR.
