**Human Resources (HR) provides support on all people-related issues for Network Rail. We’re responsible for creating an environment that attracts and engages high-performing individuals to deliver engineering and operational excellence for Britain’s railway. **What does the average day look like?***

As a Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, you will deliver a range of Diversity and Inclusion related projects across Network Rail, leading, maintaining and controlling the delivery, promoting methodologies and best practice to drive continuous improvement. To provide visibility and assurance to the Network Rail Executive on Diversity & Inclusion project progress.

**What does the average day look like?***

As a Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, you will deliver a range of Diversity and Inclusion related projects across Network Rail, leading, maintaining and controlling the delivery, promoting methodologies and best practice to drive continuous improvement. To provide visibility and assurance to the Network Rail Executive on Diversity & Inclusion project progress.

**As a Diversity and Inclusion Specialist you will**:

- Lead and manage Diversity & Inclusion projects which build a diverse, representative workforce, enable high performance to meet business objectives, and develop an organisational culture that enables our people to thrive and innovate, in line with Network Rail’s Diversity and Inclusion strategy.
- Produce and maintain accurate project plans that support Network Rail’s Diversity & Inclusion strategy and agree deliverables that support achievement of the strategic outcomes and provide key stakeholders with accurate progress which enables intervention as required.
- Manage the whole lifecycle of defined projects including, but not limited to, project tracking, reporting, prioritisation, risks & issues, benefit realisation, interdependencies so that successful and pre-defined outcomes are achieved.
- Lead on all communication activity to provide valuable insights to all levels of the business in order to demonstrate delivery and the value added to the organisation.
- Support HR Business Partners, Regional and Functional Leads to understand Diversity & Inclusion implications, using project management expertise and process skills in order to help manage risks, compliances and support delivery of local projects and initiatives.
- Establish and maintain effective networks to allow collaborative working across the business, engagement with key stakeholders and provide supporting mechanisms and materials to enable successful front-line project delivery and benefit realisation

**What essential skills and experiences are required?**
- Experience of working in an equality, diversity and inclusion role in a large/matrix organisation
- Relevant successful experience in project management
- Experience of using a range of communication activities/campaigns
- Proficient in stakeholder management across a range of organisations to support business objectives
- Ability to analyse and interpret data from a variety of sources to inform management reporting
- Demonstrates strong business/commercial approach and understanding of business needs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise and influence a range of stakeholders across different levels of an organisation
- Excellent organisational skills enabling delivery of multiple workstreams to tight timescales.
- Highly motivated to help bring improvements to passengers and employees

**We would also like, but not essential**:

- Strong report writing skills to support benchmarking and business reporting processes.
- Experience of working and managing relationships within a highly unionised environment
- Strong IT skills including Excel and PowerPoint
- A relevant project management qualification. (eg. PMP, APMP, Prince2)
