This opportunity sits in Supply Chain Operations (SCO), a division of Route Services that procures safe, sustainable, products and services that are in turn used to improve and enhance the rail infrastructure across Britain. SCO aims to deliver excellent value and service to our customers, helping the rail industry to work together to deliver a more cost-effective railway.

Our extensive supply chain network plays a crucial role in helping to run a safe and efficient railway.

**Every year we**:

- Buy and deliver 2,000km of rail and 2.5 million tonnes of ballast.
- Operate 1,200 rail vehicles.

**Behind the scenes we**:

- Process £7,000,000,000 of payments.
- Handle over 23,000 IT helpdesk calls.

**Every year**:

- Mechanical and electrical locking fitters maintain 468 signal boxes and 387 ground frames.
- Operational property helpdesk process over 200,000 calls.

Main Responsibilities
This role is working within the Fleet and Engineering team, we deliver services which support our primary Supply Chain Operations delivery functions such as rail vehicles and plant, assurance, engineering specialisms and those supporting services such as inventory management and regulatory responsibilities for the business.

You will be responsible for managing a range of key contracts across your department to deliver parts, materials and services to deliver the infrastructure renewal fleets who work tirelessly to renew and maintain the network infrastructure.

You will have a set of supplier contracts to manage and ensure the supplier is working to the contracted terms and timelines. You will conduct and lead contract review meetings with the suppliers and engineering teams, you will be the key contact for the customer using the supplies and services to ensure seamless delivery to ensure our fleets go out to work on time and perform. You will undertake any required contract variations in line with governance processes, manage warranty claims and non-conforming deliveries as well as any other supplier or customer issues. You will be responsible for ensuring the suppliers are meeting their Key Performance Indicators within the contracts.
- Manage supply contracts to achieve the most cost effective delivery of goods and services.
- Engage with and support internal and external stakeholders to understand future business strategies and support delivery of an up-to-date supply and demand plan
- Manage effective relationships with customers and suppliers and deliver day-to-day supplier relationship management for nominated specialist areas.
- Provide management information to the business, as required.
- Assist in the design, introduction and operation of relevant process management systems
- Hold regular contract management meetings with key stakeholders, suppliers and customers to identify tangible improvements in value and service levels
- Manage the collection, review, analysis and support of category and supplier data for particular categories, to support the development of innovative category strategies. Advise the supply chain on alternative suppliers.
- Identify and implement quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
