The Terrace, a Conferencing Suite situated at the heart of Wellington Place, is hiring for an individual with previous front of house and events experience to work alongside the small on-site team and help manage the venue. The role will predominantly consist of marketing, booking, co-ordinating and executing meetings and events whilst delivering the standard of customer service we pride ourselves on.

**Responsibilities**

**Event Management and Marketing**
- Responding to enquiries in a timely manner.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times to ensure repeat business and positive word of mouth reviews.
- Manage all aspects of running a smooth event, working with the client to ensure it is as they have envisaged and planned.
- Co-ordinate external suppliers to the events ensuring H&S is always adhered to.
- Deal with any complaints or issues aiming for a positive outcome.
- Manage health and safety ensuring any risks are reduced or eliminated.
- Help generate marketing content to keep our profile raised and attract new clients.

**Operations**
- Open and shut the venue as required.
- Arrange reactive maintenance where required.
- Ensure that the venue is well presented, fully stocked and rooms are set ready for viewings or the next meeting.
- Co-ordinate supplier visits and works to ensure no impact on the customer experience.
- Process as many up-front customer payments as possible.
- Process supplier invoices with approval from the Venue Manager.

**Person Specification**
- A natural flair for hospitality and an ability to make the guest feel welcome.
- Creative and able to think outside of the box.
- Self-motivated, shows initiative and a can-do attitude with an eye for detail.
- Problem solver.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
- Excellent IT skills. In particular Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Previous experience with Canva and Buffer preferred but not essential.

**Details**

Due to the nature of this role, flexibility will be required to accommodate early morning or evening events, shifts to be agreed with colleagues and Management.
- Generally, 37.5 hours a week (Monday - Friday) 09:00-17:30.
- £23,000 per annum.
- 23 days holiday increasing a day each year of service, capped at 25.

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
