**Job Title: Production Team Leader**
**Business Area: Lucy Electric UK Ltd**
**Location: Thame**
**Job Purpose**
To lead a Team of Production Operatives, Senior Production Operative or Production Technicians carrying out production activities relating to the manufacture and assembly of electrical switchgear. To ensure production is efficient, accurate and timely. To be responsible for the materials issued to them, the management and organisation of the production area and the staff in their team.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Adhere to all Company Health and Safety Policies and Practices ensuring safe working practices are carried out at all times.
- Responsible for all performance reporting, holiday and discipline procedures for team members.
- Organise the team to ensure weekly production targets are met, tasks are completed efficiently and to a high quality compliant with Lucy quality standards.
- Setup production areas for the production team
- Use ERP and Teamcenter to produce Bills of Materials (BOM) and drawings for their team.
- Manage the Health & Safety and housekeeping of their area.
- Ensure all team members (temporary and permanent) are trained on the assigned assembly tasks and ensure they are correctly assessed and authorised.
- Ensure the team accurately maintains production records as required including birth certificates and time sheets.
- Ensure equipment is running efficiently with maximum use of material, resource and time.
- Ensure maintenance is conducted in line with maintenance schedules and equipment requirements.
- Alert the Production Manager when any tools or equipment fail to meet the requirements for which they are intended.
- Ensure work, instructions and materials are handed over to subsequent shifts correctly when required.
- Raise issues of continual poor performance in their team with the Production Manager and support employees with any performance improvement measures.
- Investigate incidents of poor quality, inefficiency and implement improvements when directed to do so by the Production Manager.
- Raise awareness of problems with production with the Production Manager and work with others to find and effectively implement solution.
- Manage product quality control for line.
- Develop initiatives to improve efficiency, Health & Safety and participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives / activities.
- Provide greater knowledge during problem solving activities and mentor / support other members of the team.
- Carryout production tasks with other members of the production team to meet production and targets and quality requirements.
- Communicate information and instructions to their Team members.
- Ensure all team members follow the relevant Company direction, policies, procedures and practices as defined by management.
- Carry out all reasonable tasks and direction given by managers.
**Job Dimensions**
- Use of hand vibrating tools and hand tools when required.
- Use and wear PPE when required.
- Regularly lift / move items of 10kg and occasionally up to 25kg within safe lifting guidelines.
- Frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- Work in Production areas that have moderate risk and require safety precautions e.g. Operating Machinery, Moving Vehicles, operating Overhead cranes in areas of relative noise.
- Use substances covered under the COSHH regulations.
**Secondary Activities / Tasks**
- Attend Health Surveillance meetings as appropriate.
- Attend training courses and participate in “on the job” training, to develop skills.
- Take on additional duties after training and qualification.
- May be required to show or explain processes to visitors.

- Can read, understand and follow Build Instructions BOM’s and drawings and train others to the same standard.
- Can use ERP and Team Centre to obtain the information required by the Production Team.
- Can carry out tasks unsupervised and can supervise others.
- Can organise the Teams work, and setup a production area or cell without supervision.
- Tackles problem solving in a logical way to arrive at the root cause.
- Knows when to escalate issues and problems.
- Can clearly communicate both written and verbally what is required.
- Can use E-mail, Word and Excel to an intermediate standard.
- Good attention to detail and good manual dexterity
**Desirable**
- Can deputise for the Production Manager when absent.
